I’ve been really bad at blogging again! I don’t know what I’ve been doing but I just haven’t had the free time lately. I really wanted to get this favourites post up earlier on in the week but I’ve literally had no photography luck lately and as I said, no time! Here it is though… finally!
For me, May was definitely the month of improving my skincare. I tend to have alright skin and only really get break outs when it’s the time of the month but I don’t think I really try with my skin care if you know what I mean? I’m terrible at knowing my own skin type so I just label myself as combination as my T zone can be quite oily but my eyes quite dry at times and then other areas just pretty normal. So, I guess I’m not terrible as it sounds pretty combination to me! The point I’m trying to make is that May was the month of me actually starting and sticking to a morning / evening skincare routine so a few of these products are in this favourites as well as some within my next post as I only got them towards the end of May!
Despite having combination skin, I picked up this value kit in normal to dry skin as one of the uses of cleanser for me is to remove my eye makeup and this is an area that’s pretty dry as I said! I am really really getting on with this cleanser and toner. Of course, all Clarins products smell amazing – always a bonus but they really leave my skin glowing. It looks so refreshed, hydrated and definitely not oily! I really recommend these products.
This set also came with a small bottle of their gentle eye make up remover and I love it! It really does remove all my eye makeup in an instant and it isn’t at all irritating. The reason behind me buying these three products initially was due to receiving an e-mail from Clarins where they were giving away 8 free samples as opposed to their 3 free samples over one weekend. I therefore decided to buy this so I could also try out some other Clarins products. I’ve been using these products throughout May and I still am using them now (sample sizes are good) and I’m really loving how hydrated my skin is at the moment!
I’m fully aware that this is a sad favourite to have but I’m really happy I finally got my hands on measuring spoons! I love baking but I tend to be pretty rubbish when it comes to measuring ingredients. In terms of scales, I’m pretty precise but when it’s spoon measurements I’m s l a c k so I had to pick up these measuring spoons from Lakeland for £2 really. I love new baking accessories!
I recently reviewed two of the old colours within Sleek’s Matte Me Lip cream range as well as two of their more recent colours – this post is tagged above. I loved all four colours I reviewed however I was most pleased with the old colour shade – Rioja Red. If you read my blog regularly then you will know I tend to go on about how red lipsticks don’t really suit me so finding this colour shade and liking it was a massive deal for me! I really love these lip creams in general as they are so long lasting and so true to their colour!
I have wanted to try this foundation forever but just haven’t bought it due to not needing it. I finally decided to purchase it and I absolutely love it, I picked it up in natural beige and it is the perfect colour for me! It blends so nicely and it lasts basically all day. Definitely will repurchase this!
I wandered in to Kiko the other day whilst waiting for an interview and was so surprised at how well priced their products are! I had intentions of buying the Limited Edition Out Of Bounds eyeliner but they didn’t have it and this one caught my eye. I am not a massive eyeliner user, I will always wear it on a night out (not very often) and then kinda just as and when in the day time but I love how the tip of this is so thin! It has a spatula tip so you can either wear it thin or thick (I’d never wear thick, far too intense for me) but I just think it’s a cool idea. The tip is so precise and once it’s dry it really doesn’t budge all day. It’s also only £6.90!
Again, if you read my posts you will know that I haven’t owned a lip liner in forever so I had to pick some up really! I picked up both shade 703 Rosewood (above right) and 705 Bright Geranium (above left) and I really like them. They’re so soft and so easily blendable – this is perfect for me as I like more natural makeup as opposed to sharp lines and they’re also pretty durable!
The Body Shop Coconut Body Butter (& Strawberry)
*stupidly photographed upside down* This is more of a fallen back in love with as opposed to a new favourite. I’ve used The Body Shop body butters for years now but I tend to own a lot of moisturisers/butters at any one time as I tend to receive a lot as gifts and then just forget what I have. I completely forgot about my coconut and strawberry body butter until recently and I forgot how good they are! I fell back in love with the strawberry one first and finished it hence it not being photographed and now I’m on to the coconut one again. I love the smell of course and I love the thickness of it. It instantly moisturises and lasts for ages. Love love love The Body Shop body butters!
That’s all for my late May favourites post! What have you been loving / are you loving any of these as much as I am?!
I’ve also decided to change my blogging days from Tuesday, Thursday & Sunday to Wednesday & Sundays. Simply because I’m finding posting three times a week too much at the moment!
